WMN article

Postby cornmother » Tue Oct 14, 2008 6:40 pm

Ebany, wildrose, glad you took a look at the article - and all you other Stonewylders out there, do have a read of it. Having had another look, I see at the bottom there's a box for comments - so c'mon, all of you - how's about flooding the WMN with your input - how very special the books are, what a special lady Kit is, etc. etc.
Be the first to comment, it says!
It's really the first opportunity all of us have to make some input to the media.
Let's do it!

I wish I knew someone famous - think I should try to call in some favours - six degrees of separation and all that... I am two phone calls from the Prime Minister but I don't think he has the time atm to endorse Kit's books!

Ummm...in the Netherlands, funnily enough!

We lived for quite a few years up in the north of Holland, in Drenthe, then moved down to the randstad - suburbs of Den Haag (The Hague). Sorcha, you will laugh at this - because I learnt my Dutch up in the north, when we came down south, the rather toffee-nosed people in Wassenaar and Den Haag said my accent was terrible! Real local yokel! Well, I had only been talking to farmer's wives most of the time, so what did they expect? I learnt the hard way, as many of the older boerinnen did not speak any English at all.

Question answered?

:)

Thanks CM! I grew up in the north , Noord Holland. Have been living in Amsterdam most of my life and I prefer the accent of Drenthe over the accent of the Hague any time!!! Stuck up with hot potatoes in their mouth   !! In Drenthe we have our Midsummer camp, it is beautiful there!! I would prefer to live there over the Hague as well

By the way, we are not curious at all

CM - you do get about! That is brilliant! Glad you learned proper Dutch and not the posh version - sounds much nicer I am sure. You two will have to teach us some Dutch at the Gathering.

Sorcha and Moongoddess
Your comments on the article can now be viewed on the WMN website. Sujee, how's about trying again?
(BTW it was written by a WMN reporter, Denise O'Leary, not by Kit)
