I've just found out that I was born exactly halfway between last quarter + new moon, so I've filled in last quarter in the poll. Thanks for the link Cornmother!

Birth Moon

Postby cornmother » Thu Mar 27, 2008 4:30 pm

Thanks, Lirazel, for getting the poll up and running

O dearie me. Having looked up mine, I was born in the last quarter, 2 days before the new moon. So according to John, that's the best time for pruning, etc. - if that also means sorting out, then my family would roll about with laughter, as I'm the untidiest person out! Mind you, I know exactly where everything is, in the assorted piles of books and papers - but I have to admit my room looks as though a hurricane has hit it.

I look forward to seeing more poll results!

On further investigation I was the first day of a new moon!

forgive my ignorance but can anyone tell me the difference between a dark moon and a new moon, as the sky tells the same tale???? :?

you are the same as me then Pixiedust, the first day of a new moon!

the dark moon phase is that few days when no moon is visible at all in the sky- when the moon appears to have waned away to nothing, we see no moon at all and then after a few days we see the very beginnings of a new moon- a tiny slither of a crescent of shiny moon, as she begins to wax again to fullness.

Excuse me for being dense  -I looked up 'my' moon and I was born under a half (crescent) moon, when it was waning. Is that the last quarter?

As I've just said on the other thread-

I was born the day before the first quarter moon. Hubby was born 4 days into the last quarter - so is that a dark moon?

No, just checked the picture chart. Hubby was born 3 days before the dark moon.

Birth moon

MrB - you're a star! Thanks for shunting over the URLs - makes it much easier for everyone to do a moon check and add their birth moon to the poll.

waning quarter for me :) four days before the new

a time of the dark mother/crone~a time to banish any negativity~a time to rest before re-birth~the aspect of winter, night, wisdom and counsel.
