Lughnasadh/ Lammas/ Gwyl Awst plans?

Postby Queen OF Swords » Tue Jul 29, 2008 11:00 pm

Hi folks,

Anyone doing anything nice this coming Lughnasadh?

I'm having a go at baking some bread tomorrow to take with me on my "Adventure Paganism" hike/ camping trip with my friend and partner-in-crime Ray. The weather is looking a bit iffy but we are taking a tent and a bit of rain doesn't usually other us. We are having a ritual on the Thursday evening then sleeping out overnight.

Whatever you are doing, may this be the beginning of a fruitful harvest.

Bright Blessings /|\

Thanks Sujee and Carp :D . Home now tired but happy.

Yes, it was wet but we managed to make camp before it got too heavy - ended up in a nice wee spot in the Kilpatrick Hills. Started our ritual under cover but we were soon out in the rain, drumming dancing and generally having a great ritual where we did our own thing but while connected. After a meal of baked potatoes and spicy chickpeas with the homemade bread, chai tea and chocolate, we sat up talking til almost daylight about anything and everything. Stayed in the tent til this afternoon dozing and chatting and cementing our friendship, then we walked somewhat sadly back to Ray's, wet but elated.

glad you had a good time, it's nice to be up as it's getting light. Birds sing and it all comes to life very quickly, I love it and best time of day if you want it peaceful and all to yourself.

How liberating that must have been....I love walking in the rain, if I've not got anywhere I NEED to go.

Yeah, you're right. It does clear the air and seems to leave a positive charge - almost like an aura - in the air :D
