about castlefest, it's a long way off yet and happens before the gathering, but if anyone feels like coming over I'll see what I can fix up. Not promising anything, we'll see. It really is well worth attending though, very well sorted!!! :D :D

I have just looked at the Castlefest link to 2008 - it looked such fun and a place both calm and mad at the same time! I would like to go if I could but will depend on money and holiday from work. The tickets seemed really good value for last year 33 euros for theree days...?? Can you cammp there or are there B&Bs nearby?

There are campings nearby! Also small hotels. A friend of mine stayed in a hotel this year and got good value for money ! could ask her the address! But if I am here you can stay with me in Amsterdam! :P Cannot promise though, might be in France staying with my mother in law :? :? :?

Send the rest of them to France and you stay with us in Amsterdam!!  I would want to go to all the days though... :D They really were beautifully dressed and it looked such fun, not at all too packed or mad with people being drunken and horrid. I liked seeing everyone learning a dance at the same time! The you tube link was a good idea - got my mind racing now....

Sujee, as I said, we'll see what we can work out! If Sorcha is not there I probably will be so we can always figure out something with camping or whatever. Depends if a few more people want to come over. Let's wait till a bit later on in the New Year and talk further.

Yes Carp - I saw the dancers - they were Tribal Belly Dancers, something I want to learn now. It can be very dark and mysterious.........

Anything happening up north?

Ah well never mind. I tend to find free festivals/parties anyway as I find that a lot of these things become very expensive especially once you have included petrol etc I do know of a lovely Beltane festival that happens at a stone circle near Thirsk every year and will certainly post details nearer the time. For Yule I think we will fill our flat full of decorations, food and mulled wine and invite our friends over with their musical instruments - at least it's warm that way!

Did you know that Damh the Bard does house concerts? That's concerts in people's houses. He asks for a minimum of 15 people, and I think it's about £15 each (for 15) to cover his expenses. I don't think that's too bad for a full 2 hrs, do you? I should think it would be less if there were more people.

What did occur to me, is our Stonewylde Gathering! I know Damh's got a gig somewhere on the 4th September, but we're there until the 6th, aren't we? What do you all think? Is it worth asking? Kit?
