You can also pass them through incsense to represent air (have sometimes cleansed my Tarot cards by annointing with water, rolling in salt and dashing over heat of a candle as well as this). Aloe Vera is good if you can get it but the cones and sticks aren't available in the midlands.

I leave most crystals in indirect sunlight and then in full moon or rain water. xxxxx
Are we human because we gaze at the stars or do we gaze at them because we are human? And do the stars gaze back - now that's a question!

I want to cleanse a couple of crystals under the full moon tonight, but it's going to be wet and cloudy by the looks of it  Does it need to be in the light of the moon, or is the fact that the moon is hidden behind the clouds OK?! If not, could I collect some rainwater tonight and then immerse the crystals in it for a few minutes tomorrow?

As with all these things sea sprite it isn't the objects you're using that contain the power, it's the intent of the user.

It doesn't matter if the moon is hidden behind clouds so long as you believe she will charge your crystals then she will.

Great Greymalkin-thanks :D Apparently it's going to be dry overnight so I can't collect any rainwater anyway. I shall put them on the lawn at the front of the house as the moon beams right down on that when not obscured by cloud :D

My new runes, a knife, my Goddess stone and a large quartz are outside now in a basket on my balcony moon (cloud) bathing! Is patchy here but at least I feel less wired than I have for the past couple of days, never been this affected before so I could do with some sleep!

I agree with GM about the intent being more important than the technical dos and dont's. I think intuition is most useful when it comes to using crystals and tarots. In the past I have buried my crystals outside in the soil for a few days and then visualised the negative energies being left behind before digging them back up. For me the same applies for rituals and spells - I just make it up!! A lot of tarot cards come with little booklets with instructions and explanations and I used to find that a bit weird. I have now been reading tarots for about ten years in my own way and I find them so helpful and clear.

I left the rose quartz from Robin's bedroom and an amethyst pendant outside on the lawn last night and they weren't covered in slugs this morning (as I had feared!) I've never cleansed crystals before, but it felt so right to put them back on the earth and let them soak up the moon energy overnight :D I think this will be my favoured way of crystal cleansing, although I have the straem in my mum's garden for emergencies
