I think I'll have to have my first re-read!

Postby sea sprite » Tue Apr 08, 2008 2:05 pm

Oh, I'm suffering Stonewylde withdrawl, despite having this lovely forum and everyone on here to 'chat' to! I'm going to have to re-read the books soon, methinks. This shows how fab they are as it's been many a year since I've felt compelled to read a book again. I'm sure you'll all know what I mean when I say how real all the characters seem. It's almost as if I'm reading a biography, not a novel!

all i been waiting for is a quiet moment to start because soon as i get into it again i wont be able to stop (as i am sure you will be too)

Kit you really have hit on something here, is there a hidden Hypnotic code in the text that we don’t realise and end up addicted to this great adventure and compelling us to spread the word (the secret is out, that’s why your getting more cards done)
:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

This is definitely very strange!

I have just packed Magus into my weekend bag to take to the Lakes tomorrow - another case of synchronicity Kit?

Very creepy we all seem to want to be re-reading them. I'm revising for my first year exams at uni at the moment (EEK!) and amongst all my ancient history books I have 'Magus..'! For some enjoyment when it all gets too much :lol:

I want to re-read the stonewylde series, but im currently on book 8 of an 11 book series! Robert Jordans The Wheel of Time, i dont know if anyone has heard of them, but i think they are brilliant! (not as good as stonewylde though obviously :lol: ) And then i have a stack of other series to read, before i can go back and reread any of the books i want to reread!!

Hi SD :)

Wheel of time books arent pagan, but they are focused around Magic, and prophecies etc, it is fantasy. But i love them, i really do, definitely one to read if you dont mind a commitment, and a story that encompasses a whole world. i love them! Only bad thing is, the writer, Robert Jordan, died before he could write the final 12th book, but as he was dying he told the rest of the story to his wife and another writer who he wanted to write the book for him, due out in 2009. I really reccomend it.

But i obviously reccommend re-reading stonewylde first :D sorry Kit! dont mean to be plugging other books on your forum :oops: :lol:

Hey, Kirsty, what a small world! I lived in Charminster for 5 years, from 1979 to 1984! I take it you mean the one near Dorchester, not the one in Bournemouth? I lived at 46 North St, on the way to Herrison Hospital. I wonder if that's still there now? I went by there with my present hubby a few years ago, and the road system has changed so much I didn't recognise where I was any more.............. :(

Image Solsticedreamer,

If you want pagan/magic/witchcraft style fiction, try:

"The Moon Garden" by Wendy Mewes;
"The Quickening" by Ly De Angeles;
"The Shining Isle" by Ly De Angeles;
"Whittlewood" by Suzanne Ruthven; and
"The Cunning Man" by Celia Rees;
"Witch Child" by Celia Rees;
"Sorceress" by Celia Rees; and
"Age of Misrule" by Mark Chadbourn.
