I loved the original version of this film and have my own copy on DVD - but the remake I think was a big let down. When you have a classic film like this, it should be left well alone and not revamped.

Wow!!!!

This forum has really taken off the last few days, can only get better all we need now is 6' of snow to make my birthday complete :D

The old version of the film is good I cant coment on the new one I havent seen it. So many re-makes are a flop, probably because they add so many special effects that kills it all.

it was repeated again the other week, got it that time :D

Nice to see the forum going from strength to strength :wink:

I've seen the Wicker Man (1973 version) 3 times in all, and it's a really excellent film which in my opinion can't be improved upon. I've heard nothing but negative comments on the remake. They've moved the location, got in American actors, and even changed the storyline. It sounds as if it's unrecognisable from the original. I don't personally think they should have messed about with it.

like beantighe i have seen the original several times and have it on dvd and enjoy it~have to be in the right mood for it though!
