I've Lit A Candle...

Postby wherethewildrosesgrow » Sun Oct 05, 2008 9:37 am

I wondered if it might be nice to have a thread where we could come if we need to express a bit of ourselves - be it happy, sad, or anything else.

I'm a candleaholic and light them at every opportunity, but especially when I want to remember and celebrate.

So - Today I've lit a candle for - my sister, who in the last week has lost not only a dear friend, but very suddenly her beloved little dog Thistle.

And I've Lit a candle for the walk I went on last night with my 12 year old son in the howling wind and rain, and to remember how we stood with our arms outstretched, faces up, loving the forces.

And I've lit a candle for Kit for bringing us all here and for all Stonewylders near and far.

So that's me lit up for the day - How about you lot?
where the willow weeps tears of diamond
and the oak bleeds pearls of dew
I have often dreamed there....
have you?

That's a lovely idea, Rosy! Quite the little pyromaniac on the quiet, aren't you? :D

particularly for my friend Steve who for many, many years has suffered from debilitating depression, bordering on, well, more than depression.... in the hope that he can find peace in his mind somewhere...

What a lovely thread :D I can't think of anyone I know who needs my thoughts, love and blessings at the moment, so they are going out to everyone's friends, family and beloved pets...be they in this world or the next :D

I am lighting a candle now for my mother. She told me on Friday that she has had trouble sleeping because she keeps dreaming about the two weeks leading up to my father's death from seccondary cancer three years ago.

I know it is the psyche's way of resolving issues but it is tiring for her and I do worry so here is to a light in her life to guide her to a sound sleep. xxx

What a lovley thought. I'd like to light candles for three people I know who are very poorly, one of them terminal and is sleeping more each day. One for Big Bear, Fox too. That brought tears to my eyes.
