We don't only have a couple of days do we? I dont know how to vote - we needs more space but I guess I imagined a bigger faster version of this but then, Mr B will have his reasons and it is easier to upload pics etc (I have done ti all by myself!) so I am torn.... Want to keep this one open as well as the new one! Keep our details there but have here for posting?? Grrr! HELP!!!!!!

I second that!! I do like the new forum as well, but miss the old, less complicated one!! The first time in my life I have my own page :P :P :P But I am afraid there will be much more group formings and private mailing in the private sections as well!
And I do miss the smileys!! On the other hand, we have a choice of Jacks to go to!!

ladies and gents    I think we need to give the new forum a bit of a chance - it's only been a few days - I think the only way it's going to take off is if WE make it - I agree with all the comments you've all made about smileys, not being able to see who's online unless you go to the members page, position of replies in the threads etc etc BUT it's still all very new to us - and there are bits I really like - the personal page for one thing, the photos straight from your pc.... we all do love this site, but that maybe mainly because we're used to it, it was our first intro to all our friends here and because we're all mainly earthy technophobes

I can't get it to work on the other forum all you get is a link  AND I don't think you can preview your messages before they're posted - so you could end up with a pile of ***

probs with the new website

Postby cornmother » Sat Dec 27, 2008 11:35 pm

Perhaps we should start a thread on the new website listing the things we're having problems with (not being able to post pictures or an avatar), and also the things we would like to have - like Smileys in a thread, not just in the chat room, like being able to see if someone has read a PM, an easier way to see who is online rather than ploughing through the Members pages, etc.

If these were listed it might give the overworked but lovely MrB an idea of what needs tweaking. I'm sure it's all teething problems with a new website, and hopefully these things can be sorted out eventually....can't they, MrB, if you happen to read this?

I've just voted for the old as well. I can't get on with the new at all. It's complicated and vexing, I'm sorry to say. I feel like a stranger in a strange land where I don't speak the language and I haven't got a map. It's actually making me feel depressed and unhappy.

This is the second site I'm on that's like this, and they really are so hard to navigate, and when you try to send a PM, you don't know if it's been sent or not, and there doesn't seem to be anywhere where your replies are stored, for you to go back and re-read.
May the Circle be open, but unbroken
